Drove up to Idaho for the 4th of July and stopped at Maverik Store 284 in Evanston WY.Put 22.20 worth of gas in the car and when I drove back through town four days later fueled up 29.10 dollars worth (Toyota Corolla holds about 17 gallons @ 2.42 a gallon).
Got my credit card statement and on both days was charged an additional 38.33 and 38.36 respectively. Disputed the charge, Visa refunded the money, but the point of the matter is that most probably Maverik employees are running a swindle out of this gas station where an out of state car's credit card is captured so a truck, probably a fueler, can come in and steal 38 bucks worth of gas per fuel up.
38 dollars is a good sweet spot for this type of scam being a number that won't flag a casual credit card user.Best part is corporate's complete lack of understanding or concern about the matter, so if you want to save a few pennies on gas from these crooks, I'd pay cash.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $76.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
I liked: Cheap price for gas, Convenient location, Clean rest room.
I didn't like: Being cheated and stolen from, Complete lack of concern from management and corporate.
